Just the mere fact that it features a male protagonist and is a paranormal book made me pick up this book. I already struggle with 3rd person POV, so you can imagine how frustrated I would be with the 2nd person.
The plot sounds amazing though, so I might just borrow a copy from the library and see how I feel about it.
Lovely review!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120760076447564855.post-52423554973368184392014-03-04T08:40:49.069-05:002014-03-04T08:40:49.069-05:00I've read one other second person perspective ...I've read one other second person perspective book and I definitely agree with it being difficult to pick up. Like you, I adored the complexity of this novel as well as the character relationships that made up the bulk of the novel. I can see where readers would struggle with this, but I still enjoyed it immensely. I am a bit apprehensive after reading some negative reviews in which the reader wasn't able to connect with the story, but now that you mention it, I DO like a reading challenge from time to time. Second POV would be so tricky to pull off! I loved how the first few chapters began in 2nd person POV - it was so captivating and different. I just wish the romance had been developed more, as well as the world, but perhaps we'll get more of both in the sequel.

Great review, Melissa! :)Lea (YA Book Queen)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07360720431931072505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120760076447564855.post-84386217669534051052014-03-03T13:43:22.935-05:002014-03-03T13:43:22.935-05:00It's definitely a challenge, Alexa, but I thin...It's definitely a challenge, Alexa, but I think it reads really well, and the author has a serious talent.
