Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can't wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I'm particularly excited for…

Josephine Hemlock has spent the last 10 years hiding from the Curse that killed her mother. But when a mysterious man arrives at her ivy-covered, magic-fortified home, it’s clear her mother’s killer has finally come to destroy the rest of the Hemlock bloodline. Before Jo can even think about fighting back, she must figure out who she’s fighting in the first place. The more truth Jo uncovers, the deeper she falls into witchcraft darker than she ever imagined. Trapped and running out of time, she begins to wonder if the very Curse that killed her mother is the only way to save everyone she loves.
Curses?! Witches?! You shut the front door! For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you know I've been clamoring around looking for a new paranormal novel to darken (or brighten, depending how you look at it) my doorstep. House of Ivy & Sorrow sounds like it's all that and more. I'm a huge fan of dark and twisting novels that evoke powerful emotions for tangible characters in a fantasy-driven environment, and I can't wait to give this one a go. Plus, for the record, the cover art is just to die for. What do you think, and what are you waiting on this week?
Get it from Edelweiss! I downloaded it weeks ago - it sounds awesome! And Natalie's TRANSPARENT was awesome, so I have high hopes for this one :D
ReplyDeleteCheck out my WoW post!
I did! I can't wait to actually start reading it now :))))
DeleteI LOVE that cover so much I can barely focus on the blurb. I don't know if I've ever read a story about witches that captured my fancy. I can't even remember the last witch story I read. Wonderful choice, Melissa. I'll be waiting for your opinion. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to read it soon...then re-read it prior to reviewing it closer to the review date. Must read now!!!
DeleteOh I do love witches!! I hope it's a good one! I love the cover and the title.
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too! The cover (and synopsis) are just to die for! :)
DeleteI need a dark twisty YA book after all that fluff I've been reading lately. Thanks for sharing, Melissa! I can't wait to read this one.
ReplyDeleteJeann @ Happy Indulgence
Right there with you, Jeann! I got it off of Edelweiss, and I'm having a hard time holding off reading it ;)
DeleteI've never heard of this book before, but I'm with you! I love witch books :)

ReplyDeleteI'm a WoW thief because didn't you post this a week or four ago?
DeleteI love the cover. I hear so many good things about House of Ivy & Sorrow. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, doll! I'm looking forward to starting it soon!
DeleteThis looks super fun. On an unrelated note, my RSS feed still gives me your new posts under the .org domain but when I click on the link it takes me to the .com site. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are a lot of bugs with this new domain. I'm working on creating a new feedburner link. I'm not sure if it will change everyone's automatically, or if they have to resub...this whole thing has been a nightmare.
DeleteThank YOU for checking it out! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I got it from Edelweiss too and so far I've managed to resist reading it, I might give in next month!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW!
I've seen this one around a good bit, but I haven't added it to my TBR list yet. Kind of want to see some reviews on it first.
