Summertime is here, my friends, and am I right in saying there's absolutely nothing better in the whole world?! Some of my earliest memories are of days at the beach, book in hand, just soaking up the rays. And, whether I wanted to believe it or not, there is such a thing as the perfect beach read! When I'm there relaxing and enjoying a beautiful sunshiney day, I want something sweet, fun, romantic and soul-fulfilling. These are, without a doubt, the perfect summertime reads in my book (pun intended)!
On the Fence by Kasie West
We'll Always Have Summer (The Summer Series) by Jenny Han
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
Rules of Summer by Joanna Philbin
Raw Blue by Kirsty Eagar
Something Real by Heather Demetrios
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature from The Broke and the Bookish.
I've read many of these and you're right they are perfect for the beach! TSWSYL, Amy & Roger, and the Summer series are a few of my all-time faves. Can't wait to check out On the Fence. Enjoy all your summer reading adventures :)
ReplyDeleteI have read and enjoyed a few of these (We'll Always Have Summer, Raw Blue, Twenty Boy Summer, Catching Jordan, TFiOS, and Amy &Roger). I am ALWAYS looking for a new beach read, so I am looking forward to reading On the Fence this summer. I'll have to check out Rules of Summer…that definitely looks like my kind of read. Great list, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteI have to read the Summer Series by Han still as well as Something Real, but I love this list, Melissa! I absolutely agree with so many of your titles. :)
ReplyDeleteI usually go for the lighter reads when it comes to summer reads so I have to second anything Miranda Keneally and Amy & Rodger's Epic Detour (and her newest, Since You've Been Gone!).
ReplyDeleteYes, loved On the Fence Melissa! I still need to read Something Real. You and Danny both adored that one so I know I'll love it as well. And of course, I never get tired of rereading Raw Blue. *sigh* SO GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed TFioS. It reminded me of A Walk To Remember which I truly adore. I guess that kind of makes TFioS the AWtR for young adults :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer reads!
Nice! All to new to me! Hope you enjoy some of these (again!) at the beach this summer!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

Such good summer picks!
ReplyDeleteI love The Fault in Our Stars, but I have yet to read any of these others. Such a shame! I'm planning to read Twenty Boy Summer this summer, and I had it in my TTT. But I definitely need to read some of these others sometime, especially Raw Blue and This Song Will Save Your Life because I've heard such great things. Great list! :D So excited for summer!
ReplyDeleteThis Song Will Save Your Life I can totally recommend Melissa, I loved it so very much!!
ReplyDeleteOn The Fence is totally on my list, and The Fault in Our Stars is one I'm still debating to read or not...
Great list!
Summer reads are my faves! I love the 'Summer' series and Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. I still haven't read Raw Blue! Argh! Really need to get to that one soon! Great picks, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteThe Fault in Our Stars is one of my favorite books. The only John Green book I have yet to read is An Abundance of Katherines, which I'm hoping to read soon! Something Real sounds pretty good; I love its cover!

I loved Raw Blue, such an awesome book. And Amy and Rogers Epic Detour. I've wanted to read This Song Will Save Your Life for for a while now, really need to try to get a copy. Great list!
ReplyDeleteAlma @ Journey Through Fiction
On the Fence was such fun! The Summer series + TBS and TFiOS are fantastic summer reads too. I keep meaning to check out Something Real and Raw Blue, they sound great.
ReplyDeleteAwesome picks, Melissa!
So many of these books are on my TBR list. I am especially interested in Raw Blue, This Song Will Save Your Life, and On the Fence. I'll have to keep those in mind.
ReplyDeleteI loved Something Real.
And you're so right - enjoying the outdoor summer weather with a great book is a glorious thing indeed. :)
Great list, Melissa! There are still a few that I need to catch up and read: On the Fence, Amy and Roger, and So Real but I absolutely loved the other books you listed and recommend them all the time.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices, Melissa! I haven't read all of these and will have to check them out. On The Fence especially. I've heard some great things about it!
