Q: If the boy you love commits a crime, would you turn him in?Sadie Ames is a type-A teenager from the wealthy suburbs. She's been accepted to the prestigious Mind Corps Fellowship program, where she'll spend six weeks as an observer inside the head of Ford, a troubled boy with a passion for the crumbling architecture of the inner city. There's just one problem: Sadie's fallen in love with him.Q: What if the crime is murder?Ford Winters is haunted by the murder of his older brother, James. As Sadie falls deeper into his world, dazzled by the shimmering pinpricks of color that form images in his mind, she begins to think she knows him. Then Ford does something unthinkable.Q: What if you saw it happen from inside his mind?Back in her own body, Sadie is faced with the ultimate dilemma. With Ford's life in her hands, she must decide what is right and what is wrong. And how well she can really ever know someone, even someone she loves.
I can't even tell you guys how much I love the concept of this one. If I could choose a superpower for myself, it would be mind-reading...or telekinesis just to play with people's heads...I digress. So, not only do I love the names of the characters in Minders, but I love the idea, the synopsis, that mind-bending cover and, well, pretty much everything that I know (and don't know) about it. Now, here's to hoping it lives up! What do you think, and what are you waiting on this week?
Nice! Haven't heard of this one before!

Thanks, Jessica! :)
DeleteI agree with you, Melissa, the idea of this novel is certainly refreshing and intriguing. LOL. That cover really is mind bending!
ReplyDeleteFantastic pick, chick! <33 (ha, that rhymes)
Hahaha I'm all about the cover. I think it would look fantastic on my shelves ;) but seriously...it sounds so dang good!
DeleteAhh, this sounds SO GOOD! I want! I'm definitely adding this straight to my TBR! Thanks, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it though?! I'm so glad you agree, Keertana! :)
DeleteI haven't heard of this one but I'm adding it to my wishlist because I love it when characters have superpowers, especially if it involves telepathy. I hope this one lives up to its potential.
ReplyDeleteI really hope it does, too! It's got everything going for it! :)
DeleteI like the synopsis and I've heard good things about another book by this author, so I'll definitely try it! :-) Great pick! Re superpowers, Charlaine Harris cured me of ever wanting to know other people's thoughts, but the sort of soulmate mindmeld L J Smith's nightworld characters had always intrigued me as a teen.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that reading minds is the most practical of superpowers, for sure, but it's a totally intriguing concept! I hope you like this one, too! :)
DeleteMelissa you always feature the best wow's! Minders sounds absolutely fantastic. I'm such an X-Men geek that anything which features powers such as those of the X-Men characters then I am sold. The premise sounds amazing and that cover is incredible! Thank you so much for putting this on my radar! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome...and thank you for saying such a sweet thing! I love finding new books to read, so I'm glad others appreciate that, too!
DeleteThis sounds so interesting! I want to know what Sadie's decisions are already. Plus, I'm a huge fan of the genre! Thanks for sharing, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteThe genre is just getting better and better, Nick! I think we're in for some great new books very soon! :D
DeleteGood pick. Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing :)

That cover is so freaky-deaky! And I just put this on my to read list. Sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteOooooo this sounds AWESOME Melissa! I love books like this that explore gray areas and ask me questions I just don't know the answers to. Definitely adding this one to my list. January has entirely too many amazing books coming out, I'm going to go broke. But I'll go broke with a smile on my face:)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great! It's new to me and the premise sounds pretty cool. That cover is sooo eye catching. Fantastic pick!
ReplyDeleteThis one really looks amazing and I've heard some great things about this author! The cover freaks me out a bit---it's cool, but freaky! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, what a cool concept. I haven't read anything by Michelle but I've heard really good things.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for this one, too. I love the concept and that cover is very cool. It's funny, I think mind reading might be the last superpower I'd chose. While it certainly could be very useful, I just don't think I'd like to know what people are actually thinking all the time. Especially if you couldn't turn the power off and had to hear everyone's inane thoughts constantly. But I digress, too. Can you tell I've given this some thought? Great pick!

This book sounds incredible (and love that cool cover)! Is it January yet??? Where's a time machine when you need one? *glares at calendar*
ReplyDeleteFabulous WOW choice :)
Ahh, this book is just blowing my mind, and all I've done is read the synopsis! I mean, let me just say YES. I love the whole mind-reading thing, as I've felt that it hasn't really been done alot before. Also, that cover is gorgeous. Even with the slightly weird names (I mean, Ford? Lol.) I am absolutely dying for this one!
ReplyDeleteAwesome sauce pick, Melissa! <3
I have never heard of this one, but it sounds AMAZING. I must add it to my TBR asap. Also, do you choose your books based on covers, because every book I see on your sight has a GORGEOUS cover. Or maybe it's your beautiful layout that highlights them so well. In any case, I love it :).
ReplyDeleteThis sounds awesome, Melissa! I don't know that I'd want mind reading for a superpower, I'm not sure I could handle hearing what people really think of me on a regular basis! Telekinesis would be more up my alley. Great choice. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that book sounds awesome! I don't think I'd like to be able to read minds, I'd rather be able to fly or time travel:)

This one sounds awesome! I don't think I'd choose mind reading as a superpower. I'd rather not know all the negative things people think about me. Instead I'd rather be able to fly or talk to animals. :D
