Ok, onto the review...

Contrary to the title of this post, this was not an impossible review to do, rather simply the name of the book. I recently finished Impossible by Nancy Werling. The excerpt below is from Goodreads.

Lucy has nine months to break an ancient curse in order to save both herself and her unborn daughter.

Inspired by the ballad “Scarborough Fair,” this riveting novel combines suspense, fantasy, and romance for an intensely page-turning and masterfully original tale.

Lucy is seventeen when she discovers that the women of her family have been cursed through the generations, forced to attempt three seemingly impossible tasks or to fall into madness upon their child’s birth. But Lucy is the first girl who won’t be alone as she tackles the list. She has her fiercely protective foster parents and her childhood friend Zach beside her. Do they have love and strength enough to overcome an age-old evil?

This book follows 17-year-old Lucy, her foster parents, Soledad and Leo, her best friend, Zach, and her mentally insane birth mother, Miranda. Lucy, by all accounts, is a normal high school teen, except for the fact that her mother is insane and she's started coming back, telling her odd things. After Lucy is brutally attacked at her prom, her life starts spinning out of control. She discovers she's pregnant by an Elfin Knight, (spoiler) and she learns she hails from a long line of Scarborough women, all tortured by a song that dictates they must complete three impossible tasks, or be condemned to lose their minds like all the previous Scarborough mothers, forcing the tasks of the curse upon all future daughters.

I have to admit, I was iffy when I bought this book. I liked the cover, and I thought the premise sounded interesting, but I'd only read one fairly decent review about the book. It turns out that I absolutely love this book. I thought it might be difficult to base an entire book around the song, Scarborough by Simon & Garfunkel. The story Nancy Werlin spins is imaginative, heartfelt, and excellently written. I recommend it to anyone who wants a deeper fantasy book, and I give it 4 out of 5, simply because it starts a little too slow for my liking.
